Sorensen Communications was founded in Miami Florida by President and CEO, Erik Sorensen with the primary objective of assisting corporations, individuals and organizations to derive maximum value from all their non-traditional marketing and promotional needs.
Erik Sorensen has developed comprehensive sponsorship platforms for clients such as Hewlett Packard, SAP, Qualcomm, Frito Lay and Visa International. He has played an instrumental role in creating corporate sponsorship programs around major sporting events such as The International Olympic and Paralympic Games, The Caribbean World Series (baseball) and The Copa Libertadores. Over course of numerous years, he has spearheaded the negotiation and implementation of fully-integrated sponsorship programs via regional concert tours with artists such as Ricardo Arjona, Mana, Franco de Vita, Diego Torres, Ricky Martin and Chayanne. In addition to this, he has negotiated numerous other sponsorships around individual performances for artists and groups including Alejandro Sanz, Juanes, La Ley, Juan Gabriel, Vicente Fernandez, Alejandro Fernandez, Marco Antonio Solis, Shakira, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Britney Spears and Santana.
Prior to establishing Sorensen Communications, Erik Sorensen was the Director of Latin American operations for IMG (International Management Group), the world's largest sports and entertainment marketing agency. In this capacity, Erik established the regional headquarters in Miami and oversaw the group's developmental efforts in the region. With IMG, Erik was instrumental in developing sponsorship and event marketing programs with numerous multinational corporations such as Citibank, Visa, PepsiCo, Anhauser Busch, Heineken, Volkswagen, SAP and Telmex.
Before joining IMG, Erik held upper management positions with Emerson Electric, Illinois Tool Works (ITW) and Komatsu Latin America where he was successful in expanding distribution channels, streamlining export procedures, new product development and in creating innovative marketing platforms. In these capacities, he earned several corporate-wide awards for achieving record sales growth and market penetration.
